The Aerfoam insulated pipe system (Foam Ducting)

To prevent heat loss and condensation in ventilation systems, air heating and cooling systems. It is key to use well-insulated and airtight ducts.

What is Aerfoam?

By using an insulated pipe system, condensation and heat loss are prevented. Ubbink’s innovative insulated pipe system. Designed for mechanical ventilation and balance ventilation with WTW (mechanical heat recovery systems), Aerfoam ensures optimal performance and efficiency.

This time-saving solution is ideal for areas prone to condensation and for pipes that typically require post-insulation, such as ventilation unit ducts and ducts leading to terminals. With Aerfoam, you get high-quality ventilation while simplifying installation and maintenance.

Why do you Prevent Condensation and Heat Loss?

Ensuring that buildings and installations function efficiently and maintain a healthy indoor climate is more important than ever! With building envelopes becoming more and more airtight to meet legislation, along with an optimally functioning ventilation system to maintain healthy indoor air quality, is essential. Preventing condensation and heat loss in air ducts is crucial, and a well-insulated duct system is key to achieving this.

The airtightness and Aerfoam high insulation value of Ubbink systems prevent condensation and minimises heat loss.

Is Aerfoam 100% airtight?

Well-insulated ducts for ventilation, heating, and cooling systems are designed to prevent temperature losses and condensation caused by differences between the air inside the duct and the surrounding air.

The Ubbink Aerfoam ductwork system is comprehensive, easy to install, and simple to maintain.

  • Well insulated duct system
  • 100% airtight and rustproof
  • Quick installation (no tape required)
  • Easy maintenance
  • High insulation value

From Air Distribution to Roof and Wall Terminals

Ubbink UK offers a complete range of ventilation solutions to complement the Aerfoam system, from air distribution ducting through to roof and wall terminals.

Air Excellent - Air distribution system : for a healthy indoor climate

Air Excellent is a flexible air distribution system designed to help create a healthy indoor climate in both new-build and renovation projects. The flexible ducting is easy to install, even in confined spaces and service voids, while the range of round and oval ducts provides greater design flexibility. A comprehensive range of fittings and adaptors allows for easy system configuration, and integrated sealing rings ensure an airtight installation.

UB41 - ventilation roof penetration: extraction of ventilation air

The UB41 Universal Service Terminal is designed for use on most pitched tile and slate roofs, without the need to identify the roof covering type. The unit features a streamlined hood on a circular upstand, a 500mm x 500mm Ubiflex flashing skirt, and a stepped adaptor suitable for duct connections from 100mm to 160mm diameter. It is designed for the extraction of ventilation air and can also be used to terminate soil and vent pipes where external pressure testing is not required.

Contego – Ventilation Wall Terminal for Supply and Extract Ventilation

The Contego ventilation wall terminal provides an effective solution for both supply and extract ventilation. Manufactured partly from UV-resistant polypropylene (PP), it features a wall plate that is easy to install and conceals existing fixing holes for a neat finish. The hood design helps prevent water ingress, reduces dirt build-up, and incorporates an insect grille for added protection. Contego is available in a range of common duct diameters to suit most ventilation applications.

Ventus – Insulated Roof Vent for Supply and Extract Ventilation

The Ventus insulated roof vent provides a universal solution for both supply and extract ventilation. Suitable for use on pitched and flat roofs, it features stepless adjustment to ensure a straight and professional finish. Available in 150mm, 160mm, 180mm and 200mm diameters. Ventus is supplied as a complete solution including the flashing and either a tile adaptor or mounting plate.

Aerfoam FAQ's

Take a look at our FAQ's to assist you further

MVHR units will require servicing , the replacing of the internal filters is only part of what should be covered within a unit service, ideally the MVHR should have the Heat Exchanger removed and the unit cleaned internally , the condensate drain should be checked for signs of leaks and blockages, the ducting should be checked and cleaned where possible, the ceiling valves should be removed and cleaned and if required the system should be re commissioned and balanced .

No, you do not need adhesive for foam ducting, it should be supplied with connectors and joiners, these are easy to use, quick to install and when clipped together ensure an airtight seal.

Aerfoam (Foam ducting) meets all the ventilation requirements in relation to insulation levels , therefore stopping condensation build up.

Wall Brackets should be placed every 500 mm to support the Foam ducting (Aerfoam).

Aerofam (Foam Ducting) is installed by sliding onto the spiggot and connecting with a suitable aerfoam connector.

Aerfaom needs no maintenance.
