One System for Complete Air Distribution

The Air Excellent air distribution system becomes even faster and more efficient to install when the valve adapters are pre-installed by the concrete floor supplier. This prefabricated approach reduces installation time, lowers costs, minimises waste, and improves overall installation quality.

Key advantages at a glance:

  • No need to measure or mark hole locations
  • No drilling required—eliminating drilling costs
  • No waste from removed temporary installations
  • Valve adapters do not need manual tightening
  • No support brackets or plates needed under adapters
  • No finishing work required around valve openings
  • Speeds up the entire ventilation installation
  • Eliminates hidden costs (e.g., damaged ceilings)

Distribution Boxes

Working with an Air Distribution Box

Using an air distribution box offers numerous advantages. It simplifies the design process and makes regulating ventilation in individual rooms easier. Additionally, it prevents speech transmission between rooms, which is important for residents.

Design Freedom

The air distribution system channels air from the ventilation unit through the main duct to the air distribution box. This box then distributes the air to various rooms via the connected Air Excellent air ducts. The plastic air distribution box provides significant design flexibility. The boxes are modular and come with adapters for different duct sizes. Depending on the number of ducts to be connected, you can choose between the 200 Series or the 800 Series. The individual branches reduce pressure loss compared to traditional systems, which benefits energy consumption.

Easy Adjustment

Adjustment is straightforward because the ducts run from the cabinet to individual rooms. This setup prevents speech transmission between rooms and minimizes pressure losses. Resistance calculations can be made in advance using our special online calculation program, the Air Excellent configurator, because you ventilate per room. Restriction rings inside the air distribution box regulate the air flows in the connected ducts.

The air distribution boxes can connect to all types of air ducts using adapters.

  • Very low pressure loss
  • Multiple inspection hatches with EPDM seals
  • Easy maintenance
  • Low noise thanks to damping set (optional)

Air Excellent FAQ's

Air excellent

Yes, however the amount you can bend it is restricted to maintain a smooth radius or curve

It depends on where it is located, the regulations state that all duct if installed in unheated areas IE a loft,  must be insulated, the insulation value must be 0.04w/mk or lower or by using an insulated wrap the semi rigid duct can have an insulation layer around it of 25mm .

If you install semi rigid duct elsewhere outside of a cold area it does not require insulating.

Good quality ducting like our Air Excellence does not need any other sealants, any ducting with ATC 2 rating is airtight already.

Back in the early 2000`s it was common to use tape to join ducts along with a non-hardening sealant , this is no longer the favoured option, ducting manufacturers like Ubbink manufacture ducting connections that will provide an airtight seal without using tape or sealant.

The size of the ducting is proportionate to the amount of air required for example, if the house/property demands a high volume of air being supplied and extracted then this may require larger ducting or even double duct runs., all of this is calculated at the design stage .
In a nutshell , the design determines the air volumes, it the air volumes are high you need larger ducting , if the air volumes are low you can use smaller ducting.

Semi rigid ducting should be supported every 500 mm , the ducting should not sag as condensation can form in any dips or traoughs and cause problems.

Yes, however the ability to bend it too far is restricted, air does not like to go around corners so limiting the amount of flexibility is key .

The Ubiflux Vigor ventilation units with heat recovery

The Ubiflux heat recovery units continuously refresh the indoor air by ensuring that the amount of air extracted matches the amount of air brought in. The cold, fresh outside air is drawn in and passed through the heat exchanger, where the heat transfer occurs.
